Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statement


Premier Transmission Limited will: -

  • Periodically publish a statement of its key Health, Safety & Environment objectives, and will report publicly on its performance in these areas.
  • Identify the Health, Safety & Environment hazards arising from its business, and assess and manage the associated risks.
  • Develop and maintain effective contingency plans, where appropriate in conjunction with the authorities and emergency services.
  • Comply as a minimum with legislation and associated codes of practice and, where reasonably practicable, improve upon the standards they specify.
  • Endeavour to improve continually its Health, Safety & Environment performance so that work related ill health and accidents are reduced and environmental emissions, waste and the use of energy are decreased.
  • Consult with employees and, where appropriate, their representatives on matters of Health, Safety & Environment.
  • Provide direction, training and, where appropriate, supervision to enable its employees to meet their obligations to work safety and with due consideration for the health and safety of others and for the environment.
  • Co-operate fully with relevant enforcement agencies, and work with industry and external bodies to further the understanding and development of Health, Safety & Environment management and practice.
  • Require Premier Transmission Limited's contractors and partners to demonstrate the same level of commitment to continuous improvement in standards of Health, Safety & Environment performance.
  • Seek to understand and take account of the Health, Safety & Environment concerns of staff, customers, shareholders, and communities local to its operations.
  • Make available appropriate resources to implement the policy.
  • Ensure compliance with the policy through a process of education, review and audit.
